Using Nick Clegg to Brussels as an envoy for UK proposals to reform Europe is the fastest way to destroy the shreds of credibility this UK government has painstakingly rebuilt in Brussels.

Very confused editorial. If the UK is to reintegrate into the EU, it will be on the EU's terms. Trying to lead the process and ask for special treatment (customs union but no freedom of movement) which no member state enjoys is a deeply un-serious proposal

Clegg has become a Silicon Valley tick.
This is almost dumber than the Clegg part to me.
It’s only used as a bogeyman in the UK because the HO was too lazy, incompetent, or politically biased to implement it properly
Not sure there is any voter block (or broadsheet) left appreciating a Theresa May Brexit reenactment in 2025 leading (in the unrealistic, best case) into negotiations about never to be baked cake recipees with Brussels.
Grief over the stellar deal they had when they were part of the EU.
