I feel this. Every day is the same - looking for jobs I don’t want because I don’t know the Right People to get into what really makes me happy.

I am not in the creative industry but it seems like anything to do with creative output, even if it's only part of a job, is under attack by people trying to automate it away

We were talking about that yesterday as a 'change challenge' going forward. If AI/automation does all the routine tasks typically assigned to entry level staff to learn the works, how do people get the experience required to get the 10 yr experience required work? Generational problem, IMHO.

It IS hard to break in, but some career paths are much more open to unconventional backgrounds or skill sets than others. If you're at all interested in computer stuff, I'd be happy to talk to you about some career things, if that's any help.

As a currently unemployed and depressed person, definitely feeling this one big. Taking solace in the fact that people do like good things and so eventually good stuff will be deemed profitable again and we can have nice jobs maybe.

It’s somewhat real I think. Recently half the people I worked with were laid off. I was also applying for a new job, anticipating layoffs, and one company I interviewed at eliminated the position before they could hire anyone, along with laying off 8% of the company.
