It is pretty amazing! It's like the library is this treasure chest of knowledge and stories, and they just let you take anything you want, no strings attached. It's wild to think about how much you can discover for absolutely nothing. What kind of books do you usually go for?
Good morning! Wishing you a beautiful day filled with peace, warmth, and little moments of joy. Take it slow, enjoy your coffee, and let today be as bright as your smile.
Great picks! Sally Rooney’s writing has such a way of capturing the subtleties of relationships and emotions, and Mary Beard brings so much life and personality to history. You're covering both contemporary and timeless with those choices.
It's even better! It's like, you say to the librarians, "I'm looking for a book on WWI women's movements, but I have no idea..." "No worries," one says, and leads you directly to the proper shelf. It's like a functioning search engine, but without intrusive algorithms that try to sell you things.
A little bit risky, like is my card the right way up so the red line can zap it, & can they (the all powerful computer) scan more than one book at a time? - otherwise brilliant! 😄
My library also automatically renews the books I have checked out unless someone is on the waitlist for them so there’s never a late fee. I’ve never tested this though as I like to read and return as soon as possible.
