(2/6) Held annually on #D17, #RedUmbrellaDay is a day where sex workers, their loved ones, and their allies/accomplices come together to mourn those no longer with us.
(3/6) #RedUmbrellaDay calls attention to hate crimes committed against sex workers, as well as the need to remove the social stigma and discrimination that have contributed to violence against them.
(4/6) Violent crimes against sex workers go unreported, unaddressed, and unpunished. And those close to sex workers face the possibility of losing the people they care for and never knowing what happened to them.
(5/6) No more. Support those already doing great and necessary work. Fight to ensure sex workers no longer face whorephobia, that life-takers are held accountable, and that fewer and fewer people are taken before their time.
