So republicans what committee votes public? we did not have a hard time getting that information or watching them up to this point. So what did they actually do? Sounds like they want credit for something that already existed.
Here in Mass, we keep our Republicans in the basement (true fact!) And no, our Legislature has never been known to be open about what happens outside of public testimony hearings. It's always a surprise!!
I’m not sure that this kind of transparency is actually good during a time when we have an authoritarian and highly manipulative, vengeful executive. I bet Trump will be happy about this.
You completely misunderstand my meaning. I am saying that people conducting things in greater secrecy can more easily avoid Trump’s bullying and behave according to their conscience. Trump will be only too happy to be able see who to bully.
I concur with you for civilian affairs/grassroots activism: secrecy is going to be necessary.
This is our state legislaure.
In Massachusetts (safely blue, strong constitution, long history of "state's rights first", good policies) we got locked out of Committee meetings and budget debates till now.
I was referring to legislative things, and maybe needing some secrecy there after all, not community organizing. But, I do understand why you've concluded you're better off at the state level in Massachusetts with transparency (for now).
Many states would not be better off under this regime.
No-one is arguing. I'm simply hoping to avert that situation.
Also, I'm not suggesting that you're blinkered. Unfortunately half the country is.
Transparency is a victory, but is it enough to bring this 'carousel' to a halt?

And no, we don't like it.
I don't trust it.

No?
Then they're not doing the job that they're supposed to be doing.
Nero fiddled while Rome burned.
We aren't burning here. We are just finally getting some transparency.
Thanks for your viewpoint, but let's not waste time arguing.

And Nice to 'meet' you!
