In a bizarre turn of events, in the same week, #F1 has appointed Gordon Ramsay (see meme below) as its premium corporate hospitality partner. OK, F1 isn’t the same thing as the FIA, but they’re inextricably linked despite the discord between them, & you really couldn’t make this shit up now. (2/2)

Serious question Mr. Bishop...what is the logic for pushing these rules on drivers? As opposed to putting more emphasis on vetting what gets broadcast? Half the time when a driver radio does get broadcast and there is swearing involved ...I've learned nothing that would change the outcome of a race

The broadcasting of driver-team radio transmissions is controlled by F1, not by the FIA - & it’s the FIA, not F1, that’s warring with the F1 drivers about their swearing. So there’s an impasse there. But, even so, the FIA president could hardly be handling things less capably. It’s risible, frankly.

We’ll have to wait and see what the GPDA’s response is but IMO this will continue to bubble over what the teams and Liberty Media figure out what they want to do about it.

It’s an interesting topic. Could F1 stop broadcasting drivers’ curses during the race and if not should F1 management pay those fines instead of the drivers? Of course ban and points deduction issues remain

Seems to have an awful case of midlife crisis. This sort of side show isn't bad for the sport media wise, and with past 'regents' one might have had a feeling it's been set-up.

I would love it if all the drivers walked onto the grid on the first day of practice and all swore into megaphones forcing the FIA to ban the whole grid and we have no race. What a message to send...
