Factoring the eww factor of animal poop taught me to stop chewing my nails. Just tire yourself out thinking, ruminating before bed. Turn off all lights. Lay down and think peaceful thoughts. Times you were happy. Just drift off into that time.
Benadryl is really gross to me. Nope, take a hot sweet milky cuppa o tea, lay down in the dark,on to deep sleep.
If that darn cat complies... Mostly I just roll over and she's gone. BLISS.
One Benadryl? I need two and to be in a dark, quiet room with my eyes closed for it to actually work. Ime, if you're fighting it, it's not going to win.
Melatonin 5mg works better for me...benadryl 25 is good but if I take 50 it has an opposite affect for me. Believe me as a night shift nurse I have tried every thing!!
The makers of Benadryl took the ‘sleepy’ out of it because they had to take the ‘wired’ out of it because of meth.It still works just as well as always for sinuses&the itchies,but I miss it putting me to sleep.Tylenol makes “Simply Sleep”, ZZZQuil &Melatonin all work well too.

Ashwaganda, magnesium, and tart cherry supplements are great for winding down, and help promote healthy sleep hygiene.
