One phenomenon I struggle to understand is the rise of drippy acoustic guitar versions of basically every song ever. You hear this stuff constantly now in cafes, hotel lobbies etc. Who needs or wants a breathy, plinky version of "Dance Monkey" or "Blue (Da Ba Dee)"?
