When I was about 13 I went to my local video store to rent THE CRAFT (1996) and the guy said, but it just screened on TV last night, and I said that I'd missed it so wanted the video. A solid example of experiences shaped and community/ies offered by broadcast television (and leaving the house).
Friday nights used to be Go to the Video Store Night and there was a whole strategy and timing to it and our entire society has broken down since we replaced it with Try to Figure Out What to Stream by Yourself While Also Scrolling on Your Phone y/n?
