Interesting that you bring up Douglas Adams.
You DO KNOW he was a somewhat outspoken ATHEIST, don't you? He was a very good friend of Richard Dawkins -- he gave a Eulogy at Adam's funeral.
As witty as always, but not as farfetched as some might think since believing and praying for the king while he pillaged on crusade was pretty much what monks were paid to do.
I spent many conversations with faculty at my old job reminding them of the computer programme from the same book: the one where you told it what you planned to do, and it told you why you were correct.
I just want the one that turns my student evaluations into works for piano.
I dropped out of high school after getting one of the highest pre-SAT scores in the US when I was 16 in 11th grade. I was professionally tested with a 159IQ at 14. I had ZERO common sense. Now at 62yo I see people saying AIs will be the saviors of humanity IN SHEER TERROR. I agree with this guy⬇️
"Reason 2.0 turned the tables and asked the user first for the wanted conclusion, and then ordered the available arguments to indisputably arrive at that desired conclusion. The program was a smashing commercial success until the military bought everything lock, stock and barrel."
When it comes to Adams always go beginning to end.
"In the beginning the universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move."
The restaurant at the end of the universe may be closing early. Sorry if you had reservations.
