I’m now stuck on HiFi Rush because I quit my game about 6 months ago, and when I went back to it a month later, I couldn’t remember or work out how to deal with a security camera/cannon thing in the corner of a VR training room. And I can’t find a suitable walkthrough. Bah.
God yes. I've lost count of the number of really cool games I've stopped due to life obligations interfering, only to have no god damn clue how the combat works when I come back 2-6 weeks later, thus forcing me to start all over.
I got stuck on a boss in Jedi Fallen Order and got mad and didn’t play for months only to come back and completely forget how to fight. Ended up just dropping the difficulty because I didn’t have the time/motivation to start over.
I forget what boss it was but I definitely ultimately swallowed my pride and lowered it for him (her?). Just that one though. Wasn't the final boss, I remember that much. Still haven't played the 2nd one tho.
2nd one is really good, definitely worth it. I didn’t fall off this time, and maintained the same difficulty through the end. I’m honestly in it for the fun/story, so I’m not grinding through any hard difficulty level.
I definitely feel this. I got about 30 minutes into The Witcher 3 and put it down, now I don't want to pick it back up again because I've forgotten the controls.

How do I attach bombs to arrows?
How do I dodge?
Etc.
Looking at YOU, Ghost of Tsushima (twice!!!). 🤬
On FFXIV, I always forget how tiers, drops, and side content operates sequentially or just generally.
And now I can't remember what game it was.
So now I need a game feature to remind me what game had a feature.
And the montage should always end on Star Trek TNG Best of Both Worlds' "Mr. Worf, fire!/and now the conclusion" for shits and giggles.
