I believe the #s were actually higher. Many states got creative in posting their numbers. For a long time, if you were not a legal Fl res. and you died of covid, you went unreported. So migrants, immigrants w/visas, snowbirds, tourists, college students or visitors who died here, were not counted.

Real is right. The campus shut down, had meals delivered to rolms the dorms, had online classes with pre-recorded lectures sent to your campus email. It was the 3rd largest epidemic ever at the time.

It was terrible. I still remember laying in bed with a temp of 104° and body aches so bad that it hurt to blink. It was the kind of fever where you can just feel the heat radiating from your body. The cough lasted a good 6 weeks.

I was on my pediatric rotation when I got sick. I missed a week because I didn’t want to risk making kids sick. I was lucky to bounce back quick other than the cough. Don’t ever want that again 😳
