It has been astutely noted that the Trump regime does not resemble N@z1 Germany as it does Vichy France: nasty, corrupt, incompetent, feeble, and reeking of decay.
I get the necessity of a coping mechanism with respect to Ted Nugent...when I was a teenager, our neighbor, a wealthy burnout, would situate himself next to his pool every morning right after the conclusion of quiet hours, and blast Cat Scratch Fever nonstop for hours...my bedroom was adjacent lol.

I don’t know, I think how the White House wanted to use the song is rather appropriate. But that may be my demonic humor.
The original village people do not have the rights to YMCA. It is owned by one original member and the other original members have repeatedly denounced and spoken out against 47. They aren’t affiliated anymore, just the one guy. The other members lost the rights and therefor can’t have a legal say.
Well, nobody in their right mind would want their music to be associated with them, after all, plenty presidents have used songs without permission so often, especially when they don't get what the songs were written about or for...
I was reading your constitution and was comparing it to the real world. The only thing that is still valid is your right to carry weapons to kill each other.
Other than that, you can throw your constitution in the toilet.
The voters allowed a Nazi Party to control everything.
Congratulations!!
Geez thanks for telling us something we don't know. What purpose do you think this comment serves? We have 330 million people in the US, 77 million voted for Trump. Many of them clueless & indoctrinated.
[We can talk about the non-voters but there aren't enough characters here to speak on that].
Even though the possibility is slim, I think it would be very very very funny if somehow MAGA got their hands on Druschba Kollectiv's music. The response the band would give as left-leaning anarchists would be biblical.
Trump has bought licenses for ASCAP and BMI, like what bars and restaurants use, so he can use any song he wants. Artists can request single customer exceptions from their union against Trump and would then have legal grounds to sue. So far no artist to my knowledge has taken those steps.
Aww. I saw @semisonicband.bsky.social at 7th Street Entry way back in the day when they were called Pleasure and I'm so glad they're still stand-up guys.
I had the honor of exchanging messages in the old days of Twitter with Semisonic’s drummer, Professor Jacob Slichter. He is an amazing, kind person. That song is so life affirming. I’m sorry it was stolen this way. Glad they spoke up!
Artists need to start putting pre-emptive injunctions (whatever the equivalent would be) on the government using their work. And sue like crazy when ignored.
The problem is often if artist is bound to a label they often times have no say in who gets to use it. Not sure at all about semisonic's contract but sometimes all they can do is whine because their label approved it.

A Band that never made a hymn for Queer people.
And if you say that they'll Sue you.
For his back catalog he needs the money
🎶Time for Trump to go back to the places he will be from (jail)🎶
Because fascism DOES NOT support Art!
Good for @semisonicband.bsky.social
