Originally, I was kinda in the "why ban them?" camp. Every app steals your data. Do something about that across the board, not just Tok Tok. But now? Ban it. Get rid of it. This whole series of events is why they should be gone.

I agree with your first statement.

But on actual principle the second is deeply concerning, van things that are politically dis favorable from my point of view.

These two statements in the span of 24 hours took me out of the camp of "Tik Tok is fine and just like other social media apps" and into the camp of they really are a national security risk and I can't believe I agree with Tom Cotton about something. They only turned it off so that they could turn it back on and give Trump credit. There is no other reason. He could have given his blessing sooner, but this way he gets all the credit. First, he got credit for "trying to fix it", then credit for the "work" he did to get it back on.
