Funny story when my son was 15 I became concerned about his hearing. I scheduled him an appt with Dr that performed his surgery at 13 mos. After an auditory test & exam the surgeon advised ‘he’s ok, just a serious case of selective listening’. I can still see the grin on my son & the Dr faces.
There’s a scene in Dickens’ Great Expectations where Pip, full of pride, goes back to his home town, only to be mocked by a local who sticks his nose in the air and says, Don’t know ya! Our cats definitely have this Don’t know ya air down flat.
