Last night's Pentagon massacre is much more than realized. Not just firing the black CJCS and first woman CNO but all the senior JAG officers and hiring a man who just joined 3 different crypto firms tied to Kushner and Thiel as Chairman. I did a deep dive into it open.substack.com/pub/fpwellma...

They continue to tell this debunked lie 🤥 for a reason: so when they cut social security to pave the way for their tax cuts for the rich you think they had an actual reason to do it.

In 2023, Ukrainian MP Oleksiy Goncharenko walked through the Kyiv suburb of Bucha one snowy morning 2 years ago, with the hope the war will soon end. Tomorrow, it enters its 4th yr., and continued U.S. support for the war is imperiled. He joins me @ 10a ET #Velshi

In the darkest times, a Ukrainian author’s words endured. As Russian forces seized his village, Volodymyr Vakulenko buried his manuscript before being killed. His unearthed story is part of Ukraine’s literary revival. Author & reporter @yarotrof.bsky.social joins @11aET #VelshiBannedBookClub #Velshi

It may not be cool or hip in some circles, but we legitimately do need a massive amount of people to run for office. Flood the school boards, councils, county seats, state legislatures, Congress, etc. Big changes at the top happen when the ground shifts at the bottom. And that can start now.

Political interference in military leadership—especially dismissing generals and admirals based on ideological loyalty rather than competence—has repeatedly led to disastrous consequences. We are not exempt. NEW from @markhertling.bsky.social: www.thebulwark.com/p/dont-purge...

For those wanting facts versus mal-information from govt officials: Truman relieved MacArthur after he disobeyed several orders, 1 which almost led to World War III w/ China. Obama accepted McChrystal’s resignation when he took responsibility for disrespecting the president’s team to the press.

“What merit means to them” General Brown’s record, which Hegseth questioned for obvious reasons: www.af.mil/About-Us/Bio...

Trump’s fight w/ NY marks escalation in his assault on checks & balances– powers that prevent “monarchical tyranny.” “If the fed. gov’t can reach in and overturn the will of the state, there’s no protection left against the will of the ‘King.’” - Kermit Roosevelt @kroosevelt93.bsky.social #Velshi

Funding for Ukraine is “not a charity, it’s a responsibility“ says Ukrainian MP Oleksiy Goncharenko. The U.S. has provided security guarantees for Ukraine since 1994. Now, three years after Russia began its invasion, America’s financial support for the country hangs in the balance. #Velshi

Ukrainians strive to secure their future & preserve their history. “The weight of history is really the motivating force for Ukrainians resisting today,” says author & journalist @yarotrof.bsky.social. “Ukrainians know they don’t have the luxury to cry right now. They need to keep resisting.”#Velshi

📬🚨 HUGE NEWS 📬🚨 Trump plans to fire the USPS governing board, merge the Postal Service into the Commerce Department. It would disrupt 55 years of non-political mail service, and threatens to upend trillions of dollars of ecommerce and the 250 year-old US mail system.

"I think there's real risk of a generation or more of data being lost." - Dr. Michael Greicius, neurology professor at Stanford University, on the damage Trump's cuts to NIH research will do to progress on a treatment for Alzheimer's disease, adding as much as 20 years to the timeline.

Trump pardoned the sentence of arguably the single biggest drug trafficker in American history on his second day in office!

Brand-name prescription drugs invented in America cost more than twice as much in the U.S. as in Canada. Americans deserve better. This week, I introduced bipartisan legislation to save Americans money by allowing them to import their medications from pharmacies in Canada.

Trump’s plan to fire these generals is nothing less than a personal loyalty test. He isn’t firing them because they’re unqualified or because they disagree on tactics in a conflict. He is because he thinks they are more loyal to the Constitution than to him.

Pay attention to this. Replacing JAGs with loyalists enables whatever orders Trump and Hegseth issue to be interpreted as lawful.

Here’s what is going on. When you start firing the military’s top lawyers, that means you are getting ready to order the military to do unlawful things. Trump replaces those JAGs with men who will justify any future unlawful and unethical actions that he wants the military to do.

My new favorite drug is Republican members of Congress getting yelled at in their districts by constituents who hate Musk.

Side note. There are eight members of the joint chiefs. the chair is black. the CNO (navy) is a woman. the other six are white guys. chair and the cno got fired tonight.

Friends . All media coverage of LA fires has completely disappeared. We have friends like @electroboyusa.bsky.social working day & night trying to support friends affected by fires . Please donate if you can . Please repost & keep reposting. It’s like America has turned their backs on these victims.

happy bday French-born American writer Anaïs Nin, b.1903. “We don't see things as they are, we see them as we are.” “And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.” “Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage.”

RIP human rights leader Malcolm X, killed this day 1965. “I'm for truth, no matter who tells it. I'm for justice, no matter who it is for or against. I'm a human being, first and foremost, and as such I'm for whoever and whatever benefits humanity as a whole.”

BREAKING: Canada defeats the USA to take home the #4Nations  Championship 🇨🇦🇺🇸 Canadian PM Justin Trudeau tweeted: “You can’t take our country — and you can’t take our game.”

I really hate the "put up with the grime, it's a city" mindset, but I hate this sort of declinism more. A country that gives up on public transit bc it's scary, and crams more people into cars, is a failure.
