I used to have a corporate job and now I’m a paramedic. I’ve perfected more people and “get shit done” skills in the past 5 years in the field than I had in the previous 10 working in offices.

My dad was a high school social studies teacher and a huge fan of Studs Terkel's book _Working_ which featured people's accounts of their working lives.

My dad talked to everyone. He wanted everyone to know they were seen and appreciated by him as they were. I try to follow in his steps.

As Gen X from San Francisco,Humanities BA @ SF State, I did retail a long time until I got a psych MA, eventually working in hospice as pagan chaplain. retail/restaurant is often what is available for many reasons for non-Legacy gold key holders. It doesnt define our whole selves. Just pays the rent

Trump had an overwhelming support of the working class - a group to be the first one to be kicked to the curb and to lose the most. But dismantling crucial systems ensuring that the group stays above water is not enough, it clearly has to be done with such utter disdain :-(
