You’re in an assigned seat on a train. What language do you want to hear around you?
Something harsh and guttural or something lilting, romantic and melodic? Shout out to Welsh too, which is very soothing.
English has one of the largest vocabularies of any language (some say it’s the largest) which gives us greater opportunity to seek out both beauty and precision in our expression.
In what sense is it terrible?
I'm trying to find a quote for you, and in doing so the auto complete in the search engine is filled with the rallying cries of non english speakers saying things like "why is english so confusing".
