Maybe this is just Canada, but the number of times I’ve been too desperate to wait in the long women’s washroom queue at football games/university/concerts and gone into the men’s bathrooms and not had a problem using the cubicle in there is nearly countless.

This. Men will harass women in public, at their jobs, in court (it has happened to me--as a lawyer), in a box, with a fox, here, there and everywhere--they don't need to start taking HRT, spend years transitioning, get a legal name change, and only THEN creep into a woman's bathroom.
