I actually think the Crisis System is a fantastic mechanic. It challenges your strategy by putting stress on a mechanic you may have been relying on for winning and punishes putting all your eggs in one basket. But they never feel unreasonable, there's always counterplay.

All of my towns are like this, -13 happiness, and the one altar I can build won't save me. Everything was fine 10 turns ago.
No idea, because the UI doesn't tell you that.
