I felt uneasy reading the highlights from Trump’s speech last night and here’s why -
I know intelligent, well-off business people in the UK who believe Trump is good for the USA and the world.
Last night, it really hit me how seductive his vision might seem to them. (Bear with me...)

Trump presents a vision of economic self-sufficiency, wealth creation, and national strength.
He claims to protect people from waste, inefficiency, and corruption while ensuring safety and law & order.
To the people I know (who are decent honestly!) this is the message they want.
Trump supporters hear a leader who cuts through the nonsense, delivers results, and puts America first.
He speaks the language of competition, winning, and strength - those values that resonate highly with those people I know who view believe politics should value market efficiency.
Opposition tends to focus on two main arguments (vital in our eyes).
Morality & Social Values – Trump disregards the vulnerable and fuels division.
Ethics & Legality – His actions break the constitution and law.
Both are real concerns, but they don’t always sway voters the way we expect.
Trump’s supporters don’t see a broken moral leader—they see a necessary disruptor.
When critics say:
“He ignores the vulnerable” → they say “Not my problem.”
“He undermines democracy” → they say “It’s already corrupt.”
To them, he’s a CEO of America, making tough calls to “win.”
Conflict results because the arguments are based on different values.
When opposition focus only on morality or democracy, they miss Trump’s real appeal.
His supporters want power, prosperity, and results not ideology.
The way the problem is framed can result in either/or solutions.
Rather than attacking Trump’s character, the debate needs to be reframed embracing all values.
1. A visionary plan for the economy - and how desired outcomes can still be achieved.
2. Understand and articulate the power of whole society win/wins.
2. Make the economic case for democracy.
Take morality out of the equation and there might be something in it (not convinced on that front either mind)
All our voices making noise on different topics is also where Democrats wrong.
Republicans push out lies in unison!!! Democrats all scream about a million topics at once.
It’s now officially dangerous and not to be trusted in the least.
Did they miss he’s a felon?
Don’t seem to realize everything he says is a LIE.Same reason ppl voted for him- He lied about project 2025,
he lied that Elon was there to clean up waste, he lied about RU helping him win. Does not matter what he said, he’s a lying conman.
It does an excellent job of covering this seduction point, and how desperate people can be made into believers.
It’s not always an easy watch, but a very important one - especially in terms of first hand, eye witness testimony.

They are & have always been in the minority.
The internet exists
It takes minutes to reveal his true character
People will choose to believe & rarely be honest about their reasons.
Their choice.
