I'm sorry to be oppositional, but I don't see a massive number of J6ers applying for state or other government jobs and don't see a specific need for this law. Any background check will still show the original felony conviction, regardless of a pardon and HR would rule them out as eligible for hire. - ThreadSky

That's true, but I suspect the Governor's memo was meant as a gesture to tell people that not all elected Democrats are rolling over/hiding. Even small gestures are considered as fighting back. I think they should take it a step further and ban them from the state, categorizing them as "terrorists".

Anyway that's about 76,000 jobs that are now cut off. And I believe it keeps Trumpers off the state board of education and from being able to hold state office if they can't get employed and paid by the state. It certainly keeps them from working at the state Capital.

18.5% of the people arrested and charged by spring 2023 from that event were prior military or cops. Those people can't become state troopers in Illinois now.

I'm in Ohio, and it's already RED RED RED! (Don't tell Trump, but Governor Dewine HATES him!) Remember, President Biden got the Chips Bill thru Congress to get Intel factory into Ohio. Dewine is a lame duck and doesn't need Trump or MAGA anymore.Ohio can be flipped BLUE if Democrats WORK HARDER!🤔
