This is next on my list to read after On Tyranny. I started reading Parable of the Sower a few years back and stopped for some reason but need to find it again in my book collection.
Oh, so youβre just lonely and seeking attention. Iβm sorry. Hopefully you can one day find a community to authentically connect with. Until then, wishing you healing.
I think about this book all the time. Butler predicted the current dystopia more accurately than any other writer. She also provides ways to survive and fight back, and I thank her for that. I know that all the dystopias that end bleakly were created as warnings, but nowadays we need more.
I learned there's a graphic novel version of this book by Damian Duffy. For those who have a hard time reading without visuals, there's that option as well.
its parable of the sower by octavia butler, the one near-future dystopian SF that comes closest to our reality (along with Random Acts of Senseless Violence by Jack Womack)
Thatβs next on my list, but Parables of the Sower was so heavy that I might need a little fantasy book as an intermission to Parables of the Talents. π₯²
I'm about halfway and not digging it. It's not the time travel it's just boring as not much is happening and I'm about to abort the book π It has such great reviews so I don't get it. I've read a lot of books from the time period and have found them all fascinating.
I get it. Some books hit or they donβt! Thanks for the honest review. If youβre into time travel/multiple dimensions then youβve probably already read this one, but Dark Matter is fantastic. I read it back in 2016. Easily one of my favorite books ever.
