Thanks so much for sharing the story of your Aunt in New Iberia LA and her "What would Jimmy Carter do?" t-shirt. It saddens my heart to see what damage #dtrump has done in 10 weeks after all the work done for civil and human rights decades ago.
You young people don’t seem to understand we’ve already been through this. Most of us have been to protests and rallies. Vietnam war global warming right to choose. You act like it’s something we’ve never done before. It’s new to you not us

We are still protesting global warming but now it’s called climate change. For some reason we are once again protesting the right to choose which is what we call it back then. As far as a Vietnam war there is no comparison to what we have going on now. If I had to explain you wouldn’t understand
I should also add- thank you for your protesting over your life. At 49, I never thought I would see is back slide. I thought we were working toward global climate action and global equity. I was wrong. We are now fighting fascism.
I do understand. I just wanted to give you the chance to air your thoughts. We have slid back 60 years in 4 years - and I mean the fall of Roe v Wade. We are aware we are heading into a new shit hole- but for now, the Civil Rights Act still stands so mad props to those in the 60s.
This has been unbelievable. I marched in the 30th anniversary of Roe in DC in 2003. I had no idea what the women before me fought for, admit we thought this was in the past and took it for granted and now here we are. It sucks. Hope yes, but it still is unreal and sucks
Looking back in retrospect, I think President Carter was under appreciated. He was ahead of his time in many ways. He didn’t grandstand and just let his accomplishments speak for themselves.
