Every character in that movie is super obviously someone's character in the screenwriter's D&D party, and I'm 100% certain that her player went to the writer and demanded that she have pit hair.
As a Gamemaster, I have many times brought in a random NPC just to help out my party because they didn't have any heals or something, then totally forgotten about them after.
for sure lmao. presenting a party saving npc can be such a razors edge of staying helpful and not useless where they dont dissapear to a pocket dimension every battle, and not being too powerful to where the party can essentially watch them fight the town for you (personal experiences lol)
A while back inbuilt a party of NPC adventurers who the PCs would occasionally come across. Every now and then they'll find one in the wild doing their own thing and can ask them to come help.
That way when they're done, it's off back to their NPC party for them!
If I recall, Michelle Rodriguez was pretty jazzed that she wasn't hounded to shave or anything to sexy up for the role. She was just allowed to be comfortable and have fun. Just everyone going with what made sense and worked.
That movie was SO damn good!
As a D&D nerd, it was really fun watching and getting to point out things that are done and being like "I know that spell!" or "I know that bit of lore!"
This movie is everything a DnD movie should be. It feels like a tabletop game. Yeah it had the marvel level humor at times but at least you can tell the writers know dnd
The movie was great until the end for me. Like they brought up that charm that can raise someone from the dead for the wife but then this girl is dying and it's all dramatic and I immediately knew they were gonna use that charm on her.
It just kinda gave me an eye roll

So I kinda get it 😅

The fight scenes are amazing. When guards go down they get back up because they were in armour. So goood!!!
