I know. It's getting very hard here in the UK as well, but this too will pass. We have to increase our efforts, not give into despair. I won't be here in 40 years telling a younger generation that I was here when fascism was on the rise a second time and I did nothing, no matter how hard it is.
Yeah, I'm a trans immigrant in the UK. It doesn't feel particularly safe here these days. At least I have the option of leaving, but I feel like I need to use my relatively privileged position to stand up and be seen to at least try by those who don't have that option.
It means I don't have the answers, but I'll continue to try things rather than just accept it. Sometimes you're not given a solution and need to find it. That's not a platitude. Do what you want, but simply giving up isn't the way to go about it.
I said “might”. 🤷♂️ 😅 I’m not saying it has to come to that. I’m just saying that Luigi proved that some people are willing to go that far to prove that point now. And if they continue to push more will.
I wasn’t criticizing at all, just acknowledging that the shooting should be seen as only the tip of the iceberg of the legitimate fury over injustice. People see the problem as too big to be solved by normal means.
Getting a firearm and getting good with it is a good first step, the second is either run for public office yourself and/or help yor democrat party out.
Boycott every company you can that supports this bs. We are soft; we can do better denying the billionaires more $. Clothes, makeup, Starbucks, all of the “extras”. Read more, watch the screen less. Name brands, convenience items. One all-purpose cleaner made from simple ingredients at home . . .
instead of outrageously priced cleaners for every different thing in your home. Make your own decor or buy used. If we all cut the supply of $ to the wealthy, it matters.
