It’s important we don’t mistake these charges being dropped as a major win. Because so long as fetal personhood laws remain, these arrests can happen and again and again.
Cool but now her name is all over the internet. Her life is ruined. Also is this the same women? She had was found bleeding and unconscious before they decided that she shouldn't be charged for this. Women are fucked.
Absolutely. And not only have that law removed, stricken, invalidated, whatever term you use, the politicians responsible for that law also need to be removed. For so long as the remain, they will rewrite and reintroduce similar laws, bills or rules.....vote out the oppressor of women's bodies
Does fetal personhood open up the possibility that a pregnant person could sue her fetus for restricting her life choices, like career or lifestyle? Sounds unlikely, but so does anything else these proponents say.
It’s not a “win” when a woman loses a pregnancy at 19 weeks, bleeds so much that she is found unconscious, and instead of getting compassion and support, her trauma is compounded by throwing her in jail when she did nothing wrong.
dystopian and ugly attacks on women. oh wait, can I use the word woman/women to refer to the female person? or is SHE a person anymore, even, at all? And this is the gov’t minding their own business???
My mother had a miscarriage in the 70's moving from one state to another. I can't imagine if she couldn't have received miscarriage care (D&C) she needed after it occurred. And she can't either.
Women in some states are afraid and they don't know what to do because the rules keep changing. We have to keep bringing these things to the forefront.
Thank you for all of your advocacy! Not to be a downer, but it’s really sad we have to feel such relief just because basic humanity is being exercised.
