It is a testament to the strength of our indigenous leaders that they ensure the history, traditions and lifestyles of Native Americans continue to live on throughout their generations.
She is truly blessed.
The season is almost upon us of all the great powwows in Minnesota and Wisconsin! She is so sweet. If you’re not able to attend an event WOJB 88.9 streams LIVE and you can listen to the drums and singing!
I, too, have photos of my youngest granddaughter in her first pow wow dress, a dress made by her great grandmother, a tribal elder. Children who saw her dancing called her Eagle Dancing Girl.
Thanks for posting this photo and evoking these memories.
Peace.
I lived in Homer AK, the tribes would all gather by boat (authentic) and kayak into Kachemak Bay. It was quite a sight, then dancing and drumming for days. It was truly spiritual.
She is gorgeous! It warms my heart to see the beauty of a peoples culture passed down to the next generation. May this practice never die for your people! ❤️
I absolutely agree. I love how the indigenous people continue to teach their children of their traditions, language and way of life. It’s so beautiful. Thank you for sharing. 🙂
