Pre-colonization Glass Gem Corn, Indigenous to North America, regrown by a Cherokee farmer in Oklahoma. This particular corn is a mix of ancient Pawnee, Osage and Cherokee varieties.

I grow a lot of heirlooms, and I tried something similar to that in color a couple of years ago, and the ears were 4-5". I maybe planted them too late, or something.

I first saw corn like this in Stargate in the late 90's. They probably chose it because of the gorgeous looks.
