Y’know you buy stuff & it’s smaller, or it feels / tastes crappier than it used to. eg: my Simple bar soap now has a slight scoop out of it so less of it. But what’s got better. What hasn’t gone worse? What hasn’t to fool us? Anything!??

I often think about this, it feels like there was a tipping point, like mid 90s? Before that they were trying to make things better to convince us to buy things but after that it became how much worse can we get away with before people stop buying.
It’s a wretched thing. I only noticed it after the pandemic. They rob us & think we don’t notice. I don’t buy Lurpak but it’s just a swizz. 1 qtr = make it smaller. Qtr2 = put the price up. No one will notice. And eventually folks don’t. Mugs. We’re mugs
I feel like there needs to be targeted buying. Using butter as an example, everyone agrees not to buy a particular brand. Or not use a particular supermarket for a month. Don't go without but focus the problem on one chain till they address it. Others would be concerned.
We are, but there are always tipping points. There are more distractions now than ever and getting that group action for sustained periods is hard but there's always a tipping point.
There are so many things now that I just don't buy. There were things that were just common buys, that became a bit more expensive, then couldn't see the value, and eventually just became laughably priced and I wouldn't not give them the money.
