40k always seemed like the rich kids hobby when I was a kid. And even moreso as an adult. But, I'm very grateful they've been putting out some banger video games lately, and I can finally join in on the fun.

It really doesn't have to be a rich person pursuit. If you go into a store nowadays you can get a demo game and space marine for free. You can paint that with a starter paint set and boom! you're a hobbyist for a very low entry cost.

Started the hobby when I was 15, I'm 40 now. I remember even worked periodically at GW France shops to help during the events like games day, or black Friday like day... Damn I don't remember the name of that day in GW calendar but it waaas huuuuge

Started my Warhammer fandom in the late 80s at 9 years old and in the states it wasn't as popular at the time...wish I would have known it would blow up worldwide and told myself to buy GW stock when it went public.

Totally agree. Id have never thought that GW would have gone the way it has. I went into a Warhammer store last week and couldn't believe how vibrant it was and how busy it was with children and young adults.

Back those 20+ years ago, i was on vacation in England. The only thing I wanted was to go to GWHQ in Nottigham.

Old One Eye hadn't been released in the US let alone store release...the staff at the store set me up and sold me one. I feel like I may have been 1 of the first to have it stateside. 😅
