For Elon Musk, buying political power and crushing complaints is easier and more natural than treating his customers well in the first place.

I caught Tesla using NDAs to prevent customers from reporting defects to the US auto safety regulator in 2016.

We know Elon Musk doesn't care about free speech. We know he doesn't care about democracy. We know he doesn't actually care about government efficiency. Every political principle he claims is a pretext for what he has in China: the ability to run his fraudulent, abusive business with total impunity.
