She to me that tech reporters (at least at Wired) are used to being hated by Silicon Valley for adversarial coverage. They also know how Musk et al think. Whereas DC political reporters engage in access journalism. That and Wired's leaders are backing them the reporters 100% (an unfortunate rarity).

Access journalism and events like the White House Correspondents Dinners where journalists actively hobnob with the people they're supposed to cover. It's the worst.
