I had so much fun with the water on this one. Getting to draw the reflections, foam, and paint the colors in was so much fun. Made with blender, making great use of the Deep Paint addon. #blender3d #deeppaint #greasepencil

Not an explanation but a closer look at the scene and showing the different layers used to make the water since I think thats the most interesting part.
gp and modeling! Though I use the GP to mesh tool (is sold standalone but also comes with deep paint) to model most of the stuff in the scene. Without any grease pencil (except for stuff I've turned into meshes) the scene looks like this.
some things ive noticed is that having lots and lots of grease pencil objects can cause some rendering issues, especially if they arent super solid/100% opacity. ive also found it hard to rig gp stuff, like the automatic weight painting doesnt really work so i gotta mess w manual weight painting
Mild flashing warning but heres a timelapse of me making the fish using the gp to mesh plus some other useful Deep Paint tools. being able to quickly add assets like this is extremely useful ( I ended up s implifying the texture in the final render)
if youre interested in deep paint or just gp to mesh, gaku has some videos where he shows how he uses it to make stuff in more depth https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Z9dt_Iy4U8

Are these a mix of GP and modelling or 100% GP? I'm not really sure what the workflow looks like.
