Hard to do. Outside Michigan Arab-Americans are mostly in heavily Dem states like CA & NJ. Many were already Repub voters; Lebanese Shia in SE Michigan are far more Dem than Arab-Americans overall. In MI Harris lost about 20K net votes vs Biden, but it was mostly by undervote/third parties/turnout…

Given that the swing from 2020 was over 200,000 Arab-Americans didn’t come close to being decisive. If Gaza had a big effect it’s more likely among white lefties &/or Muslims (among whom the largest group are African-Americans). But in some of the seven battlegrounds Harris got more votes…

Not sure it did much w Jewish voters; they were one of the few groups that appear to have gone more Dem than in 2020. But they just don’t move much election to election; it’s usually around 80% Dem. May have been offsetting shifts within, but net effect was likely a very slight Dem gain.

That’s what I think is hard to measure. I think outside battlegrounds it was probably significant. The Harris campaign & allies blunted it where they were active, but it would take deep dives of polling & data to figure it out (which somebody may have done, but I haven’t seen it if they have)

My point is there’s no data suggesting it made a difference in battlegrounds except maybe by capping possible gains vs 2020 that would have been needed to overcome Trump’s surge voters (who were spread out in every kind of community in every part of the country)

I know of many young people who flatly refused to vote for Joe Biden and then for Kamala Harris, saying she was no better. They were aware that Trump would be worse for Gaza but oddly that didn't make any difference at all to any of them. Most of them were first-timers and they were outraged.

I've a friend who has two nephews in the IDF. I know that at least one of them is involved in combat ops. I think about him every damn day.
