I see this in things like the NYT's Daily podcast. A guest will say something like, "We fired him because he was corrupt" and the presenter says, "So, you fired him because he was corrupt and then what happened..."

One new show this week — OK, it's "Long Bright River" — was constantly having characters repeat things that just happened on-screen and I genuinely wonder how many of those instances were direct examples of execs saying, "But you can't guarantee people were actually watching." It's not a good trend.
