For years, Lurie wrote on the semiotics of fashion for the NYRB. As my wife (then girlfriend) and I were leaving, she read our outfits. In my memory, she told me that I was wearing the pants of an ambitious man. Yesterday, I received a journal entry where she remembered it a bit differently, lol.
