Note the age of the brothers in that vid. Soulful singing isn't really a thing anymore because of a number of factors we've been over within the community ad nauseam. It's been replaced with rap.

I love hip hop, but I adore gospel and (especially) R&B and soul.

Anyway, yeah, my dad could SANG.

Wow. That was exquisitely beautiful. I love doo-wop, but didn't expect it to move me to tears. It took me by surprise, just from awe that humans can make beauty like that, and have it seem like effortless grace. I'm still all abuzz, like a medieval person who's just seen a visitation of angels.

My dad was always the bass. I never heard him sing in a group, but my mother did. She still talks about it. There are certain songs I hear on the radio--from R&B to rock to soul--and I can hear my dad sing along with it. My love of music comes from him!
