Imo the easy explanation is bc trad aesthetics/ceremonial was marginalized by the rollout of Vatican II so they became the resentful province of conservatives. A phenomenon sidestepped by A-Cs because they didn't have a Vatican II to obey

Another consideration is that within the Anglican context, Latin-style vestments and elaborate ritual and ornaments are *not* traditional, but were often a consciously adopted rebellion against the more austere traditional vestments

Painting with a *very* broad brush, it strikes me that there are two broad buckets of U.S. Anglo-Catholics: Sarum and Tridentine.

Tridentine are sometimes more conservative on social issues in line with Rome.

Is that totally off base?

It’s hard to generalize because the sample size is so vanishingly small. I’d say that jurisdiction is much more predictive than liturgical predilection
