This is good. I live in Texas and NY is on my bucket list to visit. Politicians, FOX News and conservative radio talk show hosts have convinced ppl that crime is out of control in big cities because it fits a political narrative and wins elections. Truth doesn't matter in this age.

I’ve never stopped thinking about when we finally got our (useless) Union rep to come to work and then she left early to go back to the UWS before “the block gets dangerous” that we, the workers, all regularly leave at 11 or midnight… which is on 52nd in midtown and FINE 🙃

I’ve been to NYC once, for my 50th birthday. It was an amazing trip. We caught the subway after a great dinner in Brooklyn back to Manhattan and never once felt unsafe. We even decided at 1:00 am to walk and get pizza. And the pizza was ahhhmaaaazing!!!!

The most dangerous thing we do is driving cars. NYC is a wonderful place, suburban people where I live fear the crowds and the number of people who don't look like them. I revel in it for brief visits!

I take it and the bus everywhere when visiting. Biggest issue is learning to look up and clock if the turn-style gate is open before running the weekly pass through as then either need to spin one’s wheels for 20 minutes or walk to the next station. 😄
