I don't want to see Neimöller's poem because just like he erased queers from the history of the persecuted because he found us inconvenient (he was a priest in the 1930s) just like so many people are doing it today.

"They came for LGBT+ before they came for the communists first, and I joined them because god hates gays" and "I never re-examined some of my bigotry even after watching my antisemitism lead to the Holocaust" would make the poem too wordy.

Dude was a Nazi anyway. He was OK with it, even a vocal supporter, until they came for him. Probably not the moral of the story we should be going for
