I just had to say, Thank you so much Marques for using your huge platform to bring so much attention to Bluesky. I appreciate as a tech reviewer/commentator you have to keep your politics close to your vest, but Bluesky has become very necessary until the Broligarchy buys it, and ruins it too :-)
Wait what? I have the bluesky app through google play? The app isnt a 3rd party like lemmy or boost was for reddit.. its a bluesky app through and through.. im confuzzeled lol
I just don't wanna constantly be reminded "Blue Sky is better on the app" & feel forced or strongly encouraged to download the app if I'd rather stick to the browser. I'll try the app on the computer. But I have storage issues as it is rn. Hoping theres no performance drop off for using the browser.
I use opera one browser and they have a sidebar where there is apps and bluesky is in there so you don't need a second tab open. Ik opera gx has a bad rep but regular opera is really good.
These stupid fucking tech bros think that everything can’t just be quickly replicated. Sure, network effects matter but most of the tech ingenuity is in attention capture. Making an honest application is infinitely easier.
Take down 538 to hide polling data? Really!?!? Do they not realize how easy it is to standup a new polling data aggregation site? It’s like these morons think we are living in the 80s.
Like bookmarks wtf!!! I finally migrated over here after realizing Twitter & the idiots there are bad for my mental health, this place is a breath of fresh air, but why can’t I save shit to come back to later when I have time for a deep dive??? I’d even *consider* paying for that feature. So needed
Not trying to be an ass when I say this, but could you not just open a second window?
It would have the same effect of removing it from the pile of tabs so you don't have to search it. Though I guess if you did this too much you'd have a list of incomprehensible browser windows instead.

Hmu if you would have any feedback/ would like to learn more about it
The risk of being fingerprinted in a browser is bad enough. An app leaves you completely open.
The lure of convenience and aesthetics won't ever override that for me.
I don't want to get notified on my desktop when I'm not using the app.
I highly prefer a browser tab.

Twitter had an app too and TweetBot was way better
