At least for now, Bing Maps is sticking with the Gulf of Mexico. Apple Maps, too. Google is the outlier.

If you don't like Google maps changing Gulf of Mexico to Gulf of America, express your free speech. Leave Google Maps a review of it bending to a Clown and using the fake name, on their Play store app. Lets see how long before Playstore shuts down the review section because of too much free speech

HERE we go (formerly Nokia, and I think still EU based) is also showing Gulf of Mexico.

I have been using it since forever. Organic Maps as well, of course (based on Open Street Maps).

About a decade ago, Apple maps took me on without question the worst route through SF in the history of inevitably terrible bay area driving. Perhaps it's time to forgive.

I got fed up of it taking me down one track dirt paths and narrow residential roads but I still use the speed camera and traffic info. Mercedes in built satnav seems to give me the best of all worlds tbh

I don't see that Microsoft and Apple are boldly opposing Trump - it might just be a matter of time. The likely outcome is that it becomes a localisation feature: all mapping apps change in the US, while keeping the old name elsewhere.

It's a fascinating reflection on things that we're so beholden to a few big tech companies who can just arbitrarily change something like global names, or acknowledge, or not, states, and there is no accountability whatsoever.
