Got an in person lecture today by someone telling me that ACTUALLY it’s a good thing that trans people can’t have the correct gender marker on their passports anymore. After all, people have medical emergencies while traveling and how else would a doctor know who you REALLY are? - ThreadSky

If a trans person was having a medical emergency, a transphobic doctor would either cause more harm or leave them there to rot. Trans people get denied healthcare all the time, I wish people would understand.

I get that biology affects things like medication dosage but like…if the doctor really needs to know those things you can just tell them??

Not to mention if you're trans and your doctor needs to know if your taking HRT or had any other medical procedures if it pertains to your condition, where as a "gender marker" will just havr them assuming that it's an out of the ordinary condition or just call you crazy or attention seeking...BRUH.

No one tends to remember HRT without proper monitoring can cause heart conditions or stroke in some cases if your levels aren't regulated or your dose is too high, just having a gender marker to indicate your medical stuff can lead to A LOT of issues medically and not just in a discriminatory basis

Also Fun fact about traveling to the USA rn from another country, everyone has to get "registered" at port entry, basically finger printed (at least if you are canadian -_-)
