On Christmas day in 1643, male physicist Isaac Newton was born in Lincolnshire, England. Though he never did marry or have children, Newton made important contributions to the field.

Newton wrote « The principia mathematica » in Latin in 1686. It was only translated in English in 1729 by Andrew Motte and in French by Emilie du Châtelet in 1759. To date this is the only official translation in French. It was more than a translation because it used new mathematical tools.
I know what this means but whenever I read "contributions to the field" or the like I always picture someone planting a tree or sowing some seeds or something.... heh
