I agree with all of you, I think. Knowing how to approach these tools, what benefit can be gained from using them, and where they just end up making more work for me / leading me down a bad path, is important knowledge to have.

Just like any new technology, really.

So far, they have been helpful as a sounding board, like an interactive rubber duck. They aren't a lever to magnify my external effort, but a calibration opportunity to adjust my internal work.

My number one reason to not use it at this point is the energy and water that go into it and number two is the dubious IP ownership of the content.

I've tested one legal practice-focused product and am about to jump into another. Supposedly it only trains on the documents that we give it (but... how did it learn to do stuff before that?)

This seems where I'm trending as well. Getting started. Its been a real eye opener watching the utes use it, tho, when they aren't really equipped to understand when not to trust the output. A warning I'm trying to internalize.
