The "Starter Pack" feature is great, caught me up with a bunch of people who are all interested in similar things and made for a good feed really quickly
Got bored of engagement bait posts on Threads from randoms who could very easily Google the prompt
Feels like a better community. Threads is already very corporate, it feels very algorithm-based. I hate that it defaults to the "for you" view. I'm on both, I visit both every day, but Bluesky is the one that gives me the most OG Twitter vibes.
not tied to a larger company of which I despise vitriolically, more internet adapted userbase, more niche communities, more people I get along well with, and my friends recommended it.
Bluesky seems very chill. I've only just set up my account, and I know that it's a lot newer than twitter, but I feel that the small community leads to a more easygoing one.
*Vastly* better moderation settings and toolset, a real following feed, custom feeds, remembers your last feed, virality is based on real user actions not black box boosting, development is public (GitHub), whole service isn't being built to sell ads.
I've deactivated both Facebook and Instagram...too much useless stuff
I loved Twitter since it was a way to get new info quickly..but now I'm actively looking for a way to leave X
Honestly ive been lurking bluesky for a while before i made an account. Cant say the same for threads. Also its connected to instagram accounts. No thanks
I think visibility is far better here. Despite millions being there, rarely we're my tweets read or liked.
Here, my first post had around 4 likes, which is not a lot but still almost equal to all the likes I got on twitter lol, despite being a smaller community.
My Insta is tied to my music account. Meta won't let me make a multiple account for some reason & Bluesky operates in a way that of a "good" Reddit / old Twitter did.
I'm on both, and don't mind either, but I get a LOT more interactions on Threads. Particularly from fellow fans of my favorite football team. It's not even close, but hopefully at some point this place will pick up.
just kinda feel like threads has a bigger chance of getting "big" given that lots of creators already have Instagram accounts etc. also bsky is an unproven start up that might have some kinda security disaster or something. id hope meta has its security and encryption shit worked out by now lol.
BlueSky have developed its own open source protocol like ActivityPub for Mastodon, there’s a very low chance (never zero ofc) that something would happen. Also, they are working on ActivityPub interoperability
Feel kinda the same. I just want a place to discuss about gaming politely having some interesting discussion. No matter the place. Threads might end up having the right resources.
Mainly asThreads is linked with my personal account, and I like bluesky/Twitter as I can keep it separate. I tried threads but it just felt very corporate. Bluesky honestly feels like a good alternative to Twitter. I’ll still use Twitter, hopefully till one day this app or something else replaces it
Tomorrow I’m going to delete my Twitter account and will attempt using both Threads and Bluesky. Threads seems to better serve the “newsfeed” thing that Twitter used to do really well. Bluesky seems to facilitate better community discussion and interaction.
I tried Threads, warily, given Zuck’s history of data theft and platforming of Russian election disinformation, anti-vaxxers, and white supremacists. Its almost defiant public immorality drove me away.
Once Jack was gone from this place, it made the most sense from an ethical posting perspective.
I tried threads, I went through a multiple day long period where after scrolling just a page of the feed it'd log me out, requiring me to re-login, and with 2FA codes again.
The tech. I did similar to explore ActivityPub for mastodon but I love seeing new stuff. Heard about bluesky from a recent X-odus and read about ATProto and was hooked on learning more. Partly too because it's nice to see a lot of art and it feels more creative a space than a competitive one.
I've been on threads for a while but decided to check this out after hearing about the mass exodus. I like the feeds and the default to see your following list.
On both, but the no algorithm default is a huge deal, it feels like people are posting here, not aggregator accounts, and also blocking is super powerful so blocked folks just disappear.
As a user, threads lacks a bunch of features. As a Creator, Instagram in general is confusing and requires specific work to post right. Overall rather just not be in anything related to Meta.
Cause what's turned into X aka a pile of garbage and toxicity was unhealthy. Using just this now and I feel some form of healing. It's like when you play LoL and you quit and you are like "dude, finally..."

Bluesky feels a *lot* like Twitter of yester... Er... Yesterdecade.
no algorithm and actual organic delivery with actual readers is a plus

Bluesky feels like Twitter but friendly. It doesn't shy away from the fact that in a lot of ways it is emulating what people loved about Twitter.
In gaming terms... Threads is Digimon. Bluesky is Palworld.

Feels less draining as well.
also, is to hold up with several different accounts. I feel threads will be my final destination

Quite a few of the people I want to follow are split between the two and I still wanna stay up to date on their projects and what not.
Threads were also not available for a long time in EU plus this is more like Twitter
but mostly fuck Facebook
Atm, this place feels like Twitter pre-fuckery.
Kinda hope it goes the way of Championship Manager and Football Manager.
Sports Interactive sold CM… and then just came out with FM the following year.
