His sht foreign policy helped 9/11 happen. I was just having this conversation with a friend, i can't think of the last administration that was actually good on foreign policy, definitely not in our lifetimes.
They’re all a mixed bag. Reagan accomplished a lot, good and evil. Clinton was fine (but a predator). IMO Obama was good. I don’t agree with everything but he did way more good than harm.
Clinton was fine? We had several terrorists attacks under his administration (not counting Oklahoma City) And all of them had implications that led to 9/11 and later the Iraq war. I wouldn't call that fine. He sucked and as time has gone on more and more of his policies
You’re right, I tend to get a little bit more leeway to that era regarding terrorist attacks to just because they were a newish phenomenon that we had no infrastructure set up to defend against and I weigh him against Reagan, who actively toppled governments. But yeah, fine as meh.
You look like you are in your early to mid thirties, so I'm going to assume that you were a child when Bill Clinton was president. Then let me explain something, he fucked up a lot but shit was better for brown and black people after he left than it was before his administration.
Tap tap tap: The world of political leadership does not begin and end with the surnames Bush, Clinton, Cuomo, Cheney, Jeffries, Kennedy, Obama, Pelosi, and Schumer.
Let new and capable people come forward. There are many who have earned a chance to lead, and lead differently.
As much as we lionize Obama, it’s painful to look at his administration in the rear view mirror critically. Lots of unfinished business; people not held accountable, etc.
I’ll never forget what Bill said about Obama back in 2008. Something along the lines of “this guy should be making us coffee”…he’s always been a WASP guy who only views minorities as votes not people capable of leadership.
This is why the democrats are rightly perceived as old and out of touch with young Americans. Instead of being an innovate and dynamic party trying to decouple us from the oligarchy and tired platitudes, we get Cuomo, Clinton, Chuck and Clyburn
We've had three Presidents in the last 50 years whose moral compasses weren't massively corrupted and were mostly headed in the right direction: Carter, Obama, Biden. Reagan, HW Bush, W Bush, Trump: all corrupted, all headed in the wrong direction.
Obama was about as deep into Wallstreet's pocket as you can get. His refusal to seek justice for victims of the housing swindle still sits wrong (I'd like my house back).
Clinton's "wonderful economy" was really just the advent of the web and e-commerce. He had nothing to do with it.
Back in 2016 they could have put Biden up. His progressive decline would have started peaking when he was about to pass the torch anyway, and wouldn't have mattered much. They couldn't understand that the Clinton legacy was a hard no for Republicans, but for many Dems as well.
He's the polar opposite of Trump. One of the most intelligent Presidents you've ever had. A decent man who achieved many great things& contributed greatly to the Peace process in N.I. Is he a perfect Human being? No, but to say he's no different from Trump is false equivalence& utter nonsense.

The indiscriminately hitting kids in Pakistan etc .
Changed the whole battle world.
Now asymmetrical attacks with cheap hardware are... Wow.
He was easily the best president of my lifetime.
His good domestically - hell when the opposition calls everything after you - you know you nailed it.
He tried anyway. The rise in hate hampered him drastically...

The DNC is corrupt.
