I can think of $331 million reasons why it is not too much to ask! They may need a solution for part of next year if Casas is not ready and maybe even longer if he can't perform. Wasting assets to acquire a 1B when you are paying Yoshida $18.6 million per year to sit does not make a lot of sense.

Raffy could be THE key to season. plays 1st I image at least a passable level. Open DH spot. Allows Roman a path as they rotate crowded OF through the OF spots + DH. Although I’m in favor of sending Ceddane down in spite of his defense. Meyer up and rotate him through IF+ DH too. CHANGE IS NEEDED!

I'm not a fan of putting Devers at first unless he's begging to go there. And he still has to learn the position. It will take him just as much time as one of the WooSox guys, but they can learn at Triple A. I say let Romy hold down the position for now, until the WooSox guys are ready. IMHO

He should want to play the field again as well as help the team win! Devers has been fielding ground balls his whole life and many years at MLB level. It would not take long for him to be OK. Vlad Jr. switched 3B to 1B quickly between rookie and 2nd year. Devers was much better at 3B than Vlad.
