I don't think people realize just how openly they displayed their malicious candor.
This resembles stagnation, recession, or depression, marked by weak consumer spending and high unemployment. Post-WWII may be an exception, driven by a strong economy.
Yeah... I've been an independent voter for half a century. I also live in a red town in a red county in a red state. Home of James David "their eating cats and dogs" Vance... I also voted for Barak (twice), held my nose and voted for Hillary, and voted for Joe and Camilla...
From where I sit, the Democrats lost Ohio, West VA. and other former blue states because the Dems stopped listening to us. I mean. You tried to force social change through imposing hiring/admission quotas for decades until the SCOTUS smacked you down in 2023.
The voters here rejected a GOP bill to force a 60% super majority on constitutional changes. Then we went on to enshrine roe in our constitution. Then we went on to legalize recreational weed.
See... We're not all "racist hicks" like the Dem hardliners repeatedly call us.
Even during Trump's "golden years" inflation averaged 2% - but NOW he's going to bring it to zero?? MAGA only believes what Trump says - reality apparently doesn't matter
People viewing data and evidence, then making conclusions based on political viewpoints is dangerous. Expecting 0% votes inflation when u start a trade war is the definition of politics over facts.
Both parties are likely answering via tribal identity not via critical thinking. At the same time, moreso than e.g. "unemployment rate", inflation expectations ARE a bit about Vibes/animal spirits
Maybe? Inflation on toilet paper for Covid was likely *entirely* reactionary. Maybe you could argue we had too much "institutional" paper and too little personal paper, but I see the French Toast Special (bread/milk/eggs) sell out in *advance* of EVERY big snowstorm since forever
It is dumbfounding that any sane person would think that inflation would be 0% AGAIN, EVER! It just shows you how out of touch with reality that Republicans are!
Shows Dems are paying attention. Iβve frozen my credit, taking $ out of big banks and put it into credit unions, reduced subscriptions/expenses and moving funds into low risk. Buckle up
Arenβt those Republicans going to be shocked. Everything Trump is doing is going to skyrocket inflation. Already starting to see indications of that in the wholesale markets.

2008 - Great Financial Crisis
1939 - Great Depression era
So, are Republicans evil, or just that stupid?
How many jobs will be lost?
Will rump's tariffs and trade war with Canada, Mexico, and China create a recession or depression?
What do you think?
The lesser of two evils
You abandoned rural areas for cities
See... We're not all "racist hicks" like the Dem hardliners repeatedly call us.
That played well in 3 urban counties here, but cost you the other 85 counties.
You forgot how to be FDR Democrats.
All trump has to do is send Elon to update the BLS computers and presto, inflation is 0%, unemployment 0%, 5 billions new jobs each quarter!
And slip into the BEA computers and a revised set of reports showing the 2017 tax cuts actually did generated 10% gdp growth annually for a decade!

I attribute that to their general pessimism about anything Biden aligning with the fact that rates were higher than anyone wanted.
